DEVELOPING ENGINEERS
A REPEATABLE METHOD
Capture the affected flow, an unaffected control, the impact window and the unknowns before chasing an alarm.
Keep timestamps, counters, measurements and hypotheses separate. Give the next engineer a question they can answer.
Record what recovered, how it was tested and what remains uncertain. An alarm clear is only one observation.

Inspect actual sample files ↓Five synthetic cases across Pro and Team include circuit down, intermittent loss, BGP session down, maintenance overrun and inconclusive evidence. Every case separates observations, interpretation, alternatives and next ownership.
Pro worksheets cover circuit down, flapping, loss/latency and BGP session down.
BEFORE YOU START
Connectivity, interface faults, packet loss/latency, BGP session issues, investigation methods, evidence, escalation and reporting. EVPN/VXLAN, DWDM and deeper CDN topics are not included.
No. It helps engineers structure investigations and communicate evidence. It makes no device connections and performs no remediation. Follow your own access and change policies.
A text editor, PDF reader and a CSV-compatible spreadsheet are enough for the documents. Pro’s optional utility uses Python 3.10+ syntax and only the standard library; it was executed on Python 3.14.6. Other Python versions are not yet verified.
Completed reports may be shared with colleagues, providers and customers. Individual source files are for one named user. Team source files may be shared in restricted internal spaces for up to 10 licensed users. Redistribution, resale and public posting of paid source files are prohibited.
Downloaded licensed versions remain usable indefinitely. Purchase includes 12 months of v1 corrections and compatibility patches, not lifetime new features. Hosted community availability is separate.
Asynchronous toolkit clarification and reproducible defect reporting, plus buyer discussions in four small spaces. No 24/7 support, network incident response or indefinite community hosting is promised. Read the product terms before purchase.
